Samoyed Association of Metro Detroit, Inc.

Our objectives are to encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Samoyeds;  to urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club;  to advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trials and sledding races, and other activities such as herding, tracking, agility, flyball, back-packing, and therapy work;  to encourage and cooperate with individuals and other groups with similar purposes;  to do all possible to help place Samoyeds in need of new homes;  and to educate new and potential Samoyed owners as to the proper care and upkeep of their dogs.

Michigan flag S.A.M.D. is a non-profit regional organization of Samoyed owners and breeders associated with the Samoyed Club of America (SCA).  S.A.M.D. is the only Samoyed breed club in Michigan, and includes members from surrounding states and Canada Canadian flag

Sunday, January 7, 2018:  SPARTAN MID-WINTER MATCH at the Michigan State Pavilion, Farm Lane Road, East Lansing, MI. All Breed AKC Sanctioned B Match.

REGISTRATION--entries will be taken starting at 9:30am and accepted until the judging of the particular breed begins.

ENTRY FEE--$7.00 per entry, and Junior Showmanship $4.00 as an additional class. All proceeds go to the Michigan State University Dog Endowment Fund.

CLASSIFIED ADS: Policy as adopted at the 1/18/87 S.A.M.D. meeting: limited to club members only, no excessive descriptions. Studs: Owners, address, phone number, sire, dam, birth date, breeder, whether proven, OFA, CERF, etc. -- $3 per issue per stud. Older dogs: Owner: address, phone number, breeder, age, neutered or not, whether housebroken, trained, etc. -- $3 per issue per dog. Revised policy as adopted at the 8/14/94 S.A.M.D. meeting: limited to club members only, unlimited wording, $5 per issue, editor's discretion. Revised policy as adopted at the 8/9/97 S.A.M.D. Board meeting regarding Litter Announcements: Limited to Club members only, one issue, free of charge. DAM, SIRE, EXPECTED WHELPING DATE, OWNER/CO-OWNERS, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, NUMBER OF PUPPIES EXPECTED (IF KNOWN).
